This complaint was received from Ajala Philemon and others against Osun State Primary Health Care Board on 30th January, 2023. These health workers were members of Covid-19 Scale 3.0 temporary workers from 24th August to 24th December, 2022. They all worked on the National Training of Trainers’ programme of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency in Nigeria. In Osun State, they were assigned to work in towns and villages as:
- EMID RECORDER AND VALIDATORS
- MOBILISERS AND MANUAL RECORDERS
- VACCINATOR WORKERS
Unfortunately, these people were not paid their stipends or wages for almost four (4) months period.
Meanwhile, the prime respondents according to them were:
- Accountant General (AG), Ministry of Health, Osun State
- Permanent Secretary (PS), Ministry of Health
- Head of W. H. O. in Osun State
- Epidemiology Manager (EM)
- State Immunization Officer (SIO)
- Executive Secretary (ES)
The Commission held a case conference wherein issues were resolved between the complainants and the respondents; as the health workers were paid handsomely to the satisfaction of both parties.
Indeed, success recorded in this complaint made the LCCI (Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry) to give a meritorious AWARD to our Principal Investigation Officer (PIO)
The complaint thus ended on that happy note.
